Sadly today is the last day of Camp iCare, once again Miss Sid and Miss Sharon welcomed us to camp. "My Legacy" was today's theme as we encouraged campers to look deep within themselves to determine how they want to be remembered. During today's feature a philanthropist the campers were treated to delicious Domino's pizza and a wonderful guest speaker, Ms. Kathy Powell, from State Farm Insurance. She shared with us the new philanthropic venture State Farm is taking part in this year, which is "The Kindness Revolution." She provided each camper with a Kindness Revolution bracelets, whenever you witness an act of kindness while out in the community, you walk up to that person who did the act and thank them by taking off our bracelet and give it to them as recognition for their deed and tell them that if they witness an act to pass the bracelet on to the next person
During Team Time we finished activities and projects about creating lasting legacies. We also thanked donors for their support of the camp.
Our guest speaker, former Auburn football player, and current Auburn Basketball strength coach, Mr. Andrew Williams dropped by to talk to the campers about how to reach their goals in life and how to create a legacy they can be proud of, he also brought along his friend and current Auburn University Football Player who's name is also Andrew Williams. Andrew is a very inspirational speaker and helped the campers realize that no matter what they dream of becoming it will come true as long as they work hard to achieve it. He also left them with a great quote, "Our ATTITUDE, effects our ALTITUDE!" Meaning that if we have poor self-esteem and an "I can't do this" demeanor we won't go very far, however with good self-esteem and a "can do" outlook we can soar with the eagles. This was a very inspiring message for all who were there to hear it campers and adults alike!!
